Cohoes man accused of striking traffic flagger
HALFMOON, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A Cohoes man has been arrested after allegedly striking a person directing traffic in the town of Halfmoon, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office. William Stanley, 43, faces multiple charges.
At around 1:21 p.m. on March 26, the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office reportedly responded to an assault call on Crescent Vischer Ferry Road. After an investigation into the complaint, deputies arrested Stanley, the Sheriff's Office said.
According to officials, a flag person directing traffic in the area had ordered Stanley to stop driving. The arrestee allegedly did not comply and, as a result, risked seriously injuring another person.
During the incident, Stanley reportedly hit the traffic flagger in the shoulder area with his hand, officials said. He was also accused of operating a vehicle without a valid driver's license.
Stanley faces the following charges, according to the Sheriff's Office:

- Reckless driving (misdemeanor)
- Second-degree harassment (violation)
- Operating a motor vehicle without a driver's license
- Failure to obey a flag person (infractions)
Stanley was released on appearance tickets pending further proceedings in the Halfmoon Town Court, the Sheriff's Office said.
