How Kristian Campbell Reacted After First Home Run With Red Sox
Kristian Campbell made the most of his celebratory first trip around the bases.
Playing the third game of his MLB career, Campbell hit his first home run in a Red Sox uniform Saturday night. Campbell’s fourth-inning blast to left-center field tied the game before Boston suffered a 4-3 loss to the Texas Rangers.
“First time hitting a home run in Major League Baseball, just a lot of energy,” Campbell told reporters regarding his enthusiastic celebration, as seen on NESN. “That’s usually how I am, though, in general. But just a lot of energy.”

Campbell’s trot started with a few fist bumps before he pointed to the stands. It was a nod to his family members, who were on hand throughout the road trip in Arlington. They were just as ecstatic.
“I was happy that they got to see that,” Campbell said. “They haven’t seen me hit a home run probably since college.”
Though just a three-game sample size, Campbell has performed admirably well (5-for-10, home run, double) at the plate. He has a pair of multi-hit games already, bouncing back from a nerve-wrecking debut.
“He’s feeling good about himself,” Red Sox manager Cora told reporters Saturday, as seen on NESN.
Campbell and company cap their four-game series against the Rangers on Sunday afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 2:35 p.m. ET, and you can watch it on NESN following an hour of pregame coverage.
