The New York Mets Triple-A affiliate ready for their second game of the season on Sunday. Saturday’s game was rained out, and on Friday, Syracuse’s first game of the season, the Triple-A Mets defeated Worcester 4-3, courtesy of five sparkling innings (one hit, one run, five strikeouts) from Blade Tidwell.
New York’s top pitching prospect is set to pitch on Sunday. Brandon Sproat will hope to improve on some Triple-A struggles last season, after posting a 1.07 ERA in High-A and a 2.45 ERA in Double-A. Across 28 2/3 Triple-A innings to end the season, Sproat had a 7.53 ERA and only struck out 21.
Most notably, former Mets pitching prospect is set to go for the Worcester Red Sox. Michael Fulmer was drafted back in 2011 by New York. Worcester also has former Syracuse Met Trayce Thompson in their lineup on Sunday.

Games Notes
Worcester starting pitcher, Michael Fulmer, was a first-round selection of the New York Mets back in 2011. Fulmer was then traded by the Mets to the Detroit Tigers, along with Luis Cessa, in exchange for outfielder Yoenis Cespedes.
Saturday’s originally scheduled game was postponed due to weather. The game will be made up as a part of a doubleheader in late April when Syracuse returns to Worcester for another series.
