Red Sox Vs. Rangers Lineups: Kristian Campbell Shifts To Left Field
The Red Sox look to rebound Saturday after their offense fell silent at Globe Life Field on Friday night.
Boston suffered a 4-1 loss to the Texas Rangers despite a solid outing from Tanner Houck. Rafael Devers’ lack of production was the story of the night, but he and manager Alex Cora noted it was way too early in the season to worry about that.
Instead, the Red Sox will turn the page with Walker Buehler set to make his Boston debut. Saturday marked the first time the right-hander would pitch in a competitive game since closing out Game 5 of the 2024 World Series. He’ll hope to give the Red Sox a competitive season after spending most of last season recovering from Tommy John surgery and a hip injury.
Buehler will have a different defensive alignment with Carlos Narváez as his catcher. David Hamilton also will make his season debut, taking over second base, and Kristian Campbell will start at left field. Jarren Duran moves to center field with Ceddanne Rafaela getting the night off.
First pitch at Globe Life Field is scheduled at 7:05 p.m. ET, and you can catch full coverage on NESN after an hour of pregame.
