Gautier cut an imposing figure opposite Medina in the cage but despite his apparent physical advantages, he didn’t force anything. Instead, Gautier showed great patience, finding a home for his power shots that had Medina looking for answers early.
A little over three minutes into the first round, Gautier tagged Medina, backing him up to the fence and prompting Medina to wave him on. That turned out to be a mistake, as Gautier unleashed a barrage of punches that had Medina covering up before finding a brutal knee up the middle to floor the Bolivian fighter and earn the walk-off KO.
