Austin hit-and-run crash victim undergoes multiple surgeries, police continue search for suspect
AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department said it was searching for a suspect vehicle related to a hit-and-run crash that caused the victim to undergo multiple surgeries.
According to police, the crash occurred Feb. 8 at approximately 5:20 p.m. near S. Lamar Boulevard and Hether Street in south Austin.
APD said officers responded and found an injured pedestrian who was hit by a vehicle that did not stop to render aid or call 911, and instead left the scene after the crash.
Austin Travis County EMS took the pedestrian to a local hospital, where he underwent multiple surgeries as a result of the crash.
APD said the suspect vehicle was possibly a Ford Chassis Cab truck of an unknown year that was white with two doors and a black grille guard.
