Rumours Fabio Paratici could return to Tottenham are wide of the mark
Fresh reports have now revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are yet to hold talks with Fabio Paratici as the former sporting director’s worldwide ban nears its end, despite earlier reports suggesting a potential return was on the cards.
It was reported earlier today that ex-Tottenham Hotspur sporting director Fabio Paratici was edging closer to a Spurs return, with claims that discussions had even taken place regarding potential signings should he step back into the role.
Spurs fans have reacted to the speculation, with sections of the Tottenham fanbase eager to see Paratici reinstated at Spurs after his suspension over alleged false accounting during his time at Juventus.
However, fresh reports from the Telegraph have now poured cold water on those claims.
Tottenham yet to hold Fabio Paratici talks as ban nears end
According to the Telegraph, Tottenham have not yet held discussions with Fabio Paratici, whose global suspension is set to expire this summer.
While Spurs have previously utilised Paratici’s expertise in a consultancy role since his resignation, it has been stated that his influence has reportedly diminished following the arrivals of Scott Munn as chief football officer and Johan Lange as technical director.
The report also links Paratici with a potential return to Juventus or a move to AC Milan, as well as a possible Spurs comeback. However, at this stage, no official contact has been made.
What this means for Tottenham’s summer plans
This does not necessarily mean that a Paratici return is off the table. However, with no discussions taking place yet, it suggests that Tottenham may approach the upcoming transfer window with Munn and Lange leading the charge.
Spurs are expected to have a major rebuild this summer, and it has already been stated that a midfield rebuild is on the cards for Tottenham this transfer window. However, it seems very likely that they would have to do this without Paratici.
The Telegraph also reports that Paratici is eager to make a swift return to a full-time role in football once his ban is lifted, with multiple options being explored. Should he join a club other than Spurs, his consultancy with the Lilywhites would also come to an end.
