Troop K K9 retires after seven years with State Police
STORMVILLE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- New York State Police's Troop K announced the retirement of one of their police dogs, K9 Dunn. The eight-year-old German Shepherd's final day on patrol was March 28.
Named after State Police Wall of Honor Member Trooper Vincent A. Dunn, K9 Dunn served in Troop K’s narcotics unit for seven years. Partnered with Trooper Edward Reiser, Dunn is credited with being integral to numerous drug and tracking missions.
During his law enforcement career, Dunn worked with Reiser on hundreds of firearm and narcotics seizure operations, multiple suspect arrests, and the recovery of over $10 million in drug sale money. State Police issued a statement on Friday thanking him for his service, wishing him a happy, well-earned retirement.
