McAlonie On Under-23 Call-Up & Motherwell Test
An immensely "proud" Michaela McAlonie discusses her Scotland Under-23 call-up, as well as Sunday's "tough away game" versus Motherwell.
Micky was one of four Hibees selected for the Young Team's squad to face Denmark and either France or Portugal in Pinatar, Spain during the upcoming international break.
The 23-year-old has made nearly 30 appearances for Scotland's Under-19 and Under-17 squads, but has not received a call-up since March 2020.
"I'm extremely proud. And so grateful. I just can't wait for the opportunity, I'm really excited.
"It means a lot. I've not been involved for a couple of years now, but I feel I have been working hard on and off the park.
"I feel like my hard work has paid off, it's really good, and important to me."
Whilst Micky, Erin Clachers, Kathleen McGovern and Tegan Bowie depart for south-east Spain, Eilidh Adams also heads off to take part in the senior squad's Uefa Nations League double-header versus Germany.
"I think for as many people to be called up, and for Eilidh to be in the 'A' Squad, it just shows you how great we've been as a team, and as individuals, this season," Micky added.
"For all of us to get this recognition is great and it's really good for the Club as well."

Before the passports are hunted down and the suitcases are packed, Micky and the girls must take on Motherwell this Sunday.
The sixth-place side host the Hibees at K-Park as they look to improve upon their first-ever post-split fixture - an 8-0 loss to Rangers - a fortnight ago.
Like our hosts this weekend, Hibs are also seeking an immediate rebound following last Saturday's disappointing Sky Sports Cup Final defeat to Jo Potter's Gers.
"I think we have bounced back really well. We've had a really good training week. We've worked really hard. Training has been really hard. It's definitely what we've needed.
"We looked back and done analysis on the game, and we know it wasn't anywhere near the standards we wanted to be at. But it's over and done with now, we know what we need to do now."
Despite last weekend's heavy loss at Fir Park, Grant Scott's side can still take confidence from their remarkable league form which leaves them top of the table with nine games remaining.
Currently unbeaten in 15 SWPL matches, Micky has been clear that Hibs will look to take control in South Lanarkshire.
"We need to focus on the league and that is what we are going to do.
"I think it will be a tough game away at [Motherwell's] home pitch.
"But we will be looking to take the game to them and go out with a wee bit of confidence to get over Saturday's defeat."
