3/28/2025: Turning cloudy today, some spots icy tomorrow
The latest Storm Tracker Forecast from meteorologist Matt Mackie:
Enjoy this quiet finish to the work week! Yes, there will be more clouds this Friday afternoon... but we will stay dry until well after sunset. Temperatures will be seasonably, in the upper 40's to low 50's in most spots.
Tonight, clouds give way to periods of steady rain. In the mountains up north, a few snow showers could mix in.
This system will get hung up right overtop of the Capital Region for the weekend. For Albany and surrounding towns, expect highs in the 50's and scattered showers. It will be warmer with breaks of sun to the south. Meanwhile, the Adirondacks, North Country, and Vermont portions of our viewing area will be much cooler - they could see wintry mix!
Periods of freezing rain could lead to a few tenths of an inch of ice in many areas. Watch for slippery conditions!
We will still be showery on Monday, but much warmer with highs as warm as the mid 60's. Tuesday looks brighter and dry, but cool and still breezy.
Wednesday looks like a decent, seasonably cool day with partly cloudy skies and highs right around 50. More showers for Thursday, with highs in the upper 50's.
