Tottenham fans left stunned by the £100m price tag slapped on top target
Tottenham Hotspur fans have been left stunned by Southampton’s eye-watering £100m valuation of Tyler Dibling, and they’re not holding back in their reactions.
It’s no secret that Tottenham Hotspur have had their eyes on Southampton’s Tyler Dibling for some time now, with their interest stretching back to the winter transfer window, but Spurs couldn’t get a deal over the line for the versatile winger.
As the summer window approaches, the links have only intensified. Reports have suggested that Dibling is open to a move to Tottenham and that Spurs are eyeing a fee in the region of £30m for Dibling.
However, recent reports now claim that Southampton are demanding an eye-watering £100m for Tyler Dibling—a figure that has left many Tottenham fans in disbelief.
Tottenham fans react to Southampton’s £100m price tag for Tyler Dibling
Spurs supporters, who have closely followed this transfer saga, have wasted no time in voicing their frustrations over the Saints’ staggering valuation. And it’s safe to say they’re far from convinced.
One fan vented: “Laughable at that price. The likelihood is that they’ll go back down, so we’ll see how steadfast they’ll be in adhering to that stance. I’d move on & get several established players for that figure.”
Another quipped: “Two Premier League goals is now £100m… make it make sense.”
One supporter didn’t mince words: “Valued more than Kane whilst playing for a relegation side.”
Another fan had alternative suggestions: “Naa he is not a £100m player. Better we should focus on players like Jamie Bynoe-Gittens and Bryan Mbeumo.” And finally, one simply put: “Oh HELL nah ????????????.”
Is Tyler Dibling really worth £100m?
Of course, English players often come with inflated price tags, but £100m for a 19-year-old with minimal Premier League experience is beyond excessive.
If Southampton were to actually sell Dibling for that amount, he’d be in the same bracket as Jack Grealish and even more expensive than Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham, and Declan Rice.
Tottenham Hotspur have never spent more than £60m on a single player, and it seems highly unlikely they’d break that trend for a teenager still developing his game.
# | Player | Position | Age | Nationality | Season | From | Fee (€) |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Dominic Solanke | Centre-Forward | 26 | England/Nigeria | 24/25 | Bournemouth | 64.30m |
2 | Tanguy Ndombélé | Central Midfield | 22 | France/DR Congo | 19/20 | Olympique Lyon | 62.00m |
3 | Richarlison | Centre-Forward | 25 | Brazil | 22/23 | Everton | 58.00m |
4 | Brennan Johnson | Right Winger | 22 | Wales/England | 23/24 | Nottingham Forest | 55.00m |
5 | Cristian Romero | Centre-Back | 24 | Argentina | 22/23 | Atalanta BC | 52.00m |
Southampton’s stance might just be posturing, but if they’re serious about that fee, Spurs will surely be looking elsewhere.
