'Democrats smell blood' due to 'unspeakably bad' news for Trump: MSNBC panel
The Donald Trump administration's inability to just admit that including The Atlantic editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg to a Signal chat where plans for an attack on Yemen were detailed is handing Democrats a weapon as polling on the scandal shows a substantial amount of Republicans have major concerns.
During a segment on the growing "cover-up" over what is being called "Signalgate," MSNBC's Joe Scarborough claimed the Trump White House is only making matters worse by not just admitting they screwed up and thereby quieting calls for heads to roll.
According to the "Morning Joe" host, Trump need only look at a new YouGov poll that shows he has lost Republicans on the issue.

"Republicans even saying, just admit you made a mistake," he told his panel. "They didn't do it and then an embarrassing situation became a really bad situation when Jeffrey released all of the launches and the times and then suddenly this isn't just about [national security adviser] Mike Waltz adding Jeffrey in on the conversation."
"This is about the major problem, the serious problem that has 60 percent of Republicans saying, this is really bad," he added before later continuing, "I mean, that is again that's unspeakably bad for members in the intel community and people at the Pentagon, and as Chris [Matthews] said, now's the time to step up and clean things up."
With Scarborough adding, "People aren't buying it, " guest Mark Leibovich of The Atlantic chimed in, "I think, you know, Democrats smell blood and they were sort of, I mean, they're going to keep this going as long as they can."
