OIC condemns Israeli Airstrikes on Syria
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned the Israeli airstrikes on Syria, calling them an “aggression” in a statement released on Thursday, March 27.
The OIC emphasized its unwavering solidarity with Syria and urged the United Nations to assume its responsibilities in addressing the situation. The statement expressed grave concern over Israel’s military actions in Syria and called for international intervention.
According to Associated Press reports, at least six people were killed in the airstrikes on southwestern Syria on Tuesday, March 25. Several others, including a woman, were also injured in the attacks.
Syria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the Israeli airstrikes, calling them a “blatant violation of national sovereignty and international law.” The ministry expressed its rejection of such aggression and reaffirmed Syria’s right to defend its territorial integrity.
The OIC’s condemnation reflects the growing concern among Muslim-majority countries regarding the continued Israeli aggression on Syria. The organization has consistently voiced its support for Syria’s sovereignty and has called for international accountability for such violations.
As the situation in Syria continues to escalate, it is crucial for the international community to stand united in advocating for peace, security, and respect for the sovereignty of all nations. The OIC’s call for the United Nations to take decisive action emphasizes the need for stronger international engagement to address the ongoing conflict in the region.
