Coronation Street star reveals movie role just weeks after dropping HUGE clue he’s leaving soap after 5 years on screen
CORONATION Street star Adam Hussain revealed he’s landed a movie role just months after dropping clues he’s leaving the soap.
The actor – who has played Dev Alahan’s son Aadi since 2020 – hasn’t had a proper storyline in months.
The star has only been making occasional appearances on the cobbles for the past year – leaving fans convinced he’s about to quit.
And now the star has revealed that he’s been working on a movie away from the ITV soap.
Adam re-shared a photo of him on set with a group of fellow actors, including Hollyoaks actress Kirsty-Leigh Porter, who plays Leela Dexter on the E4 soap.
The pair are starring in new movie called Spice for Life, with Adam playing character Sully.
Alongside the photo, Adam wrote: “Was great working with these lot.”
The original photo was shared by the filmmaker Saleem Miah, who wrote: “The hardest working, kindest cast and crew.
“Thank you for helping me bring this film to life.
“I’m so grateful and can’t wait for people to see how special what we’ve made is.”
The film follows his own personal story real-life experience as a young British Asian in the foster care system.
Aadi’s last major storyline was last January after he was rushed to hospital in shock scenes.
Last summer fans are convinced that his character is being written out after Adam, 23, shared an update on another project away from the show.
The TV star announced he is set to star in a new film called Denial, which focuses on themes of men’s mental health.
Adam shared stills from the upcoming film, but this immediately got Corrie fans speculating that Aadi had left the cobbles.
He further fueled rumours of an after he posted new headshots on his Instagram – which something actors tend to do when they’re about to leave.
A fan asked the star: “Is that why you’re not on Corrie though?”
But TV star Adam did not respond to the comment – despite replying to other fans.
Soap fans will be devastated to see the actor exit if he does leave.
Last January, Aadi was rushed to hospital in heart-stopping scenes.
The doctor confirmed to Dev, Asha and Amy that his collapse was due to carbon monoxide poisoning, before adding it was lucky someone had found him in time.
It came after Asha found out that her ex Nina and brother Aadi had shared a kiss.
