Coca-Cola to revive ‘legendary’ bottles 12 years after being discontinued in the UK
COCA-COLA is set to bring back its “legendary” bottles 12 years after they were discontinued.
The iconic bottles came out in 2013 and this year the beloved brand is putting a fresh twist on them for Gen Z.
Coke fans all remember the “Share a Coke” campaign which brought out a range of personalised coke cans.
The launch offered a classic bottle of Coca-Cola with the customer’s name on the logo where the name usually is printed.
On May 1, the new and improved launch will offer even more names to choose from, including nicknames, surname and pet names.
With 72 per cent of Gen Z seeking authenticity, Coke has brought back the personalised campaign for the younger generation.
You can even create your own personal touch by scanning the QR code to create a truly unique Coca-Cola pack.
In the new range Brits can pick some adorable terms of endearments including “My Bestie”, “My Bae”, “My Mate”, “My Fam” and “My Day One.”
This summer Coca-Cola is introducing a new feature of the campagin called Coke Memory Maker.
The online digital experience allows you to create memes with your friends and family and lets you make your own videos.
When ‘Share a Coke’ was first rolled out in Australia, using the top names at the time, it quickly soared in popularity.
It then was rolled out to over 80 countries – and the re-launch will be another global campaign.
The advertising was so iconic that it even received multiple awards at the Creative Effectiveness Lion Awards at Cannes.
Now Brits can seek out their personalised Coca-Cola again this summer with a new set of names ready to be picked up.
Elodie Peribere Senior Marketing Director UK & Ireland at Coca-Cola says: “‘Share a Coke’ is about celebrating the magic of human connections, one personalised Coca-Cola pack at a time.
“Returning after its initial popularity in 2013, we’re excited to be able to give consumers more ways to connect over a Coca-Cola.
“Given the nation’s fondness for nicknames, Brits have the chance to personalise a can with a surname, term of affection or nickname of choice, meaning people can create something totally unique to them.”
