Columbia-Greene Humane Society hosting pet food drive
HUDSON, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- The Columbia-Greene Humane Society is hosting a pet food drive at ShopRite on April 19. Residents can donate pet food from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to support the organization's pet food bank.
According to the humane society, the food bank supports families that may have trouble feeding their animals because of financial hardships. The organization said the food bank, however, is running low.
The food drive will accept dry and wet food for cats and dogs, as well as food and snacks for other animals like rabbits and guinea pigs. According to the organization, the food bank gives away over 50,000 pounds of food every year.
The food bank is open every day at the humane society, 111 Humane Society Road in Claverack, from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. However, items can also be picked up at satellite locations across the twin counties. For a full list of locations and further services the Humane Society offers, visit the organization's website.
