San Marcos man gets 17 years in sexual assault, invasive recording case
AUSTIN (KXAN) — A 23-year-old from San Marcos was sentenced March 20 after being found guilty of sexual assault and invasive visual recording, according to the Hays County District Attorney’s Office.
Records showed Cory Grado, 23, was sentenced to serve 17 years in prison related to the charges.
“The evidence at trial showed that Cory Grado recorded himself sexually assaulting the victim,” the DA’s office said.
According to the office, San Marcos police officers searched Grado’s phone for evidence and found images and videos depicting the sexual assault, as well as close-up photos of the victim’s intimate areas.
Prior to Grado’s sentencing, jurors heard additional testimony from the victim, the victim’s boyfriend and the mother of the victim.
The testimonies detailed “the traumatic effect the crimes had on the victim and [explained] how much she has suffered as a result,” the release said.
