Crowley man involved in fatal crash claimed life of 18-year-old in Allen Parish

KINDER, La. (KLFY) -- A Crowley man was involved in a fatal single vehicle crash on la. 383 near Haymond Road in Allen Parish claimed the life Zoey Downing, 18, of Kinder on Tuesday, authorities said.
During the investigation, authorities said that Anthony Culbertson, 19, of Crowley, was driving his vehicle south on la. 383 and then for reasons unknown left the roadway to the right and struck a culvert before overturning.
Authorities then revealed that during the crash Downing was partially ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said. Culbertson sustained moderate injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital.
A standard toxicology sample was collected from Culbertson and submitted for further analysis, authorities said.
The crash remains under investigation.
