Bronx Zoo to pay settlement fee to visitors from 2022 to 2024
THE BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) -- If you visited the Bronx Zoo between 2022 and 2024 you may be entitled to financial compensation.
The Wildlife Conservation Society, headquartered at the Bronx Zoo, has agreed to a settlement after facing a class action lawsuit claiming failure to properly disclose processing fees for electronic tickets.
As a result of the lawsuit, those who purchased electronic tickets to the zoo between Aug. 28 2022 and Jan. 16 2024 may be entitled to a portion of the $990,000 settlement fund.
Additionally, the Bronx Zoo will no longer charge ticket fees unless they are clearly disclosed in the total before being selected for purchase.
How do I get a payment?
If you purchased electronic tickets to the Bronx Zoo between Aug. 28 2022 and Jan. 16 2024 you can submit a claim form online or by mail no later than July 21. Payments will be made through PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, or check, at your election.
How do I exclude myself from the settlement?
To exclude yourself from the settlement, you can send a letter to the Settlement Administrator no later than May 1. If you exclude yourself, any reimbursement you may be entitled to will be released. Information on how to contact the Settlement Administrator can be found online.
