Ed Sheeran hosts surprise performance in NYC subway alongside Jimmy Fallon
MIDTOWN, Manhattan (PIX11) -- Renowned singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran treated New Yorkers to a surprise performance in the New York City subway station on Wednesday morning.
The singer was spotted performing alongside late-night show host Jimmy Fallon at the 47th–50th Streets–Rockefeller Center station around 11 a.m.
Video from social media shows the pair first performing Chappell Roan's "Pink Pony Club" in disguise in front of a sizable crowd before they eventually rip off their black wigs and hats.
The superstar treated commuters to an early taste of his new single "Azizam" that's set to be released on April 4.
Ed Sheeran's surprise performance comes after similar pop-up shows by Bad Bunny, U2, Miley Cyrus, Green Day and Adam Levine.
