Code Blue Alert issued for New Jersey city as temps expected to drop
NEW YORK (PIX11) – A Code Blue Alert was issued for Asbury Park on Wednesday, officials said.
The alert is declared when temperatures are expected to fall below 32 degrees, according to the city’s Department of Social Services.
Unhoused people can call the Monmouth County Division of Social Services at 732-431-6000 extension 4613 to find a shelter or be screened for placement. The alert begins at 7 p.m. on Wednesday and ends at 9 a.m. on Thursday.
Low temperatures around 33 degrees are in the forecast for Wednesday evening, according to the National Weather Service.
