PicklePalooza coming to Delmar this May
DELMAR, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Calling all pickle lovers and pickleball enthusiasts! PicklePalooza 2025 will be coming to the Elm Avenue Park in Delmar on May 3.
Th SABIC Community Festival will kick off at 10 a.m. and go until 6 p.m. with music, food truck specialties including pickles, vendors, games, and the Merriman and Pfister Artists' Market. There will also be a friendly pickleball tournament for beginner and intermediate players.
Pickleball players will play four games in the morning with the top four teams in each division advancing to the afternoon playoffs. There will be three divisions with two skill levels of play.
The divisions are women, men, and mixed teams, and the levels of play are 2.5 and 3.0. Skill level 2.5 is for players who are relatively new to the game but can keep score and know the rules while 3.0 is for more skilled players who can keep rallies going with decent control.
Sign-in is at 7:30 a.m. and the tournament concludes with a medal ceremony at 4:45 p.m. There are also learn to play sessions for beginners to try the sports with guidance from experienced players.
