Watch: Cristian Romero defensive howler leads to goal from Tottenham target
While Argentina registered a comfortable win over Brazil on Tuesday, Cristian Romero made one poor error, which was punished by a Premier League striker, who the Tottenham centre-back will go up against once again in a few weeks.
It was reported last week that the Argentine medical staff had concluded that Romero was not fit enough to play both of his side’s World Cup qualifiers during the international break.
However, despite playing all 90 minutes in the win over Uruguay last Friday, Lionel Scaloni once again handed the centre-back a start against the Brazilians in Buenos Aires.
It was a night to remember as the home side emerged 4-1 winners, but Cristian Romero made a huge error which he will not want to watch back.

Argentina had raced into an early 2-0 lead courtesy of goals from Julian Alvarez and Enzo Fernandez, but Romero let Brazil back into the game with a poor mistake.
On 26 minutes, Matheus Cunha robbed Romero of possession before finding the back of the net, thus giving the Selecao a foothold in the game.
However, the centre-back’s blushes were spared as strikes from Alexis Mac Allister and Giuliano Simeone ensured that the World champions emerged comfortable winners.
Ironically, it has been reported that Tottenham are considering triggering Matheus Cunha’s release clause this summer after such an impressive season in front of goal with Wolves.
Romero may go up against Cunha again soon
Cristian Romero’s mistake does not bode well for Tottenham Hotspur as the former Juventus man will go up against Cunha again soon as Spurs travel to Wolves for a Premier League fixture next month.

The Wolves man initially looked in danger of a lengthy suspension, but it was confirmed earlier this week that Cunha will make his return against Tottenham.
That is undoubtedly a major blow to Ange Postecoglou’s side, given the kind of goalscoring form that the Brazilian has been in this season.
