Real Madrid push Tottenham aside in the race to sign Dele Alli’s teammate
Tottenham Hotspur remain keen on signing Como starlet Nico Paz, but the attacking midfielder’s representatives have handed Spurs a blow by informing them of a big transfer development.
Paz has been a revelation since swapping Real Madrid for Como last summer, with the 20-year-old having scored six goals and provided six assists in 27 league appearances so far.
It was reported at the start of this month that Tottenham’s scouts had been mightily impressed by Paz’s displays and were plotting a summer move for him.
The same outlet explained, however, that there is a possibility of the midfielder returning to the Santiago Bernabeu in the future as Madrid have a buy-back clause for the player.
What Nico Paz’s representatives have told Tottenham
TBR Football have now confirmed that Tottenham Hotspur are indeed considering making a move for Dele Alli’s Como teammate when the transfer window reopens in June.
However, they explain that Paz’s representatives have now informed Spurs and his other suitors that the midfielder will not be leaving the Italian club this summer.
This is because Real Madrid have reached out to their academy graduate and told him to stay at Como one more year.
Carlo Ancelotti’s men want the Argentine to spend one more year at the Serie A side and plan on activating their buy-back clause in 2026.
Other Premier League clubs enter race as Paz’s plans revealed
TBR Football say Arsenal and Manchester United have also shown an interest in singing the midfielder this summer, having been impressed by his development this season.
However, they, along with Spurs, been told by Paz’s agent to forget about a summer move for the youngster.
The publication adds that the Como star’s dream is to make it at Real Madrid, and he would thus be happy to wait until next summer to return to the Spanish capital.
