Tommy Fury scoffs at Jake Paul boasting he can beat Anthony Joshua, Paul responds
Tommy Fury has a less-than-friendly reminder for Jake Paul.
“The Problem Child” recently claimed he could defeat heavyweight boxing star Anthony Joshua, saying on his podcast, “I know that I will f*cking beat Anthony Joshua’s ass.”
He added, “He doesn’t have a chin, and he has no skill, and he’s stiff. And I love you, Anthony. We’re friends, all this sh*t, but I want to fight you.”
It was quite the boast given Joshua is a two-time heavyweight champion with a 28-4 pro record as well as an Olympic gold medalist. Fury, a longtime rival of Paul’s who defeated Paul via split decision when they fought in February 2023, decided to weigh in on a potential Joshua-Paul matchup and he doesn’t like the influencer’s chances.
“Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua,” Fury said in an Instagram Stories clip. “Just wanted to come on here and remind everybody that that bum couldn’t beat me when I basically had a broken hand. I had one hand and he still lost.
“Jake Paul, I’m still your daddy and everybody weighing this fight up, don’t bother, because he ain’t worth shilling. And a loss will always be there, Mr. Paul.”

Paul has generated plenty of buzz since crossing over from the world of YouTube and social media celebrity, compiling an 11-1 record while fighting an assortment of notable MMA names (including former UFC champions Anderson Silva and Tyron Woodley, as well as fan favorite Nate Diaz) and most recently stepping into the ring with Mike Tyson for a blockbuster event that aired live on Netflix.
Fury remains the lone loss on Paul’s record, a fact that Fury has made sure to frequently mention. He awaits his next booking after withdrawing from a fight with one-time UFC welterweight title challenger Darren Till due to Till threatening to utilize MMA techniques in their fight.
Paul later responded to Fury’s comment, calling him “Tommy Fumbles Fury.”
Tommy Fumbles Fury…the ship has sailed mate. I’m trying to build the sport. You are trying to make a payday and hit the pub. No judgement. We are just different. https://t.co/cp2vf628sG
