Missing Family Guy episode finally released after being ‘lost’ for over 27 years – as fans brand it ‘internet history’
FAMILY Guy’s Missing Pilot episode has finally been released – after it went missing for over 27 years.
The hit sitcom, which was created by Seth MacFarlane, burst onto screens in 1999.
Following Peter Griffiths and his fictional family, the show quickly amassed a cult following thanks to its shock comedy.
In 2003, fans who had purchased the show’s official DVD of Volume 2 were treated to 16 minutes of the very first episode as bonus content.
However, the entire episode had been ‘lost’ to the archives – until now.
The full pilot episode has now been recovered and has made its way onto online for fans to enjoy.
Animator Robert Paulsen, who previously worked on the show, has uploaded the episode to his website.
Family Guy fans are flocking in their droves to enjoy the episode and took to social media to comment.
One said: “Gives good insight to how FG developed the characters and what changes they made for the better. Probably a good idea changing the voice for Chris.”
A second wrote: “Seeing Proto Quagmire is like looking at one of those English bulldogs after hundreds of years of inbreeding.”
“Love that they already got cutaway gags in the pilot,” said a third.
A fourth fan wrote: “This is Internet history.”
While a fifth commented: “I like how awkward and unfinished it is.”
To date a whopping 23 series of Family Guy have been produced, with more than 430 episodes broadcast.
