Terrified fans ‘forced to turn off’ trailer for iconic horror movie ahead of franchise return
TERRIFIED fans say they were “forced to turn off” the new trailer for the latest Final Destination movie ahead of the horror franchise’s return.
In true style of the iconic films, the teaser trailer involved plenty of grisly deaths that left fans squirming.
It’s been well over a decade since the last Final Destination film dropped, so fans have been on the edge of their seats waiting for another.
The film franchise – which has spawned six horror movies – is known for its grueling suspense and elaborate deaths.
For those who don’t know, the Final Destination films all follow various different characters working to escape the supernatural personified force of Death as best as they can.
The deaths are always dramatic and never what you expect will happen.
The sixth movie sees death stalk a new set of victims as a college student tries to find a way to end the cycle.
The synopsis reads: “Plagued by a violent and recurring nightmare, a college student heads home to track down the one person who might be able to break the cycle of death and save her family from the grisly demise that inevitably awaits them all.”
In the gruesome trailer, fans see the premonition of a family barbeque gone horribly wrong with fatal consequences.
The teaser showed plenty of gruesome deaths which included being hit by a bus, someone stepping on a huge piece of glass, and another being electrocuted by a lawn mower.
But for some fans the trailer was too much, with one fan saying: “No thank you. That glass in the grass well scared me enough.”
While another added: “Had to turn off! Too scary for me!”
This one was terrified fan said: “That trailer made me jump the whole way through! Way too grisly!”
LAST ROLE
Final Destination: Bloodlines marks actor Tony Todd’s last role.
The star – who was also known for the Candyman films – died last November, leaving fans devastated.
In the Final Destination films he played William Bludworth, so now that he has passed away, the latest film marks an end of an era for fans.
After watching the trailer, one fan wrote: “RIP Tony! You’ll be so missed!”
Another added: “Was this Tony Todd’s last role? That’s so sad!”
This one paid tribute: “Such a great actor! Shame this is Tony;s last film.”
FINAL DESTINATION FRANCHISE
The first Final Destination movie was released in 2000, and proved a huge hit with movie goers.
Although the films are eccentric, and can often be viewed as cheesy, fans can’t get enough of them.
Each one tells a different story, but they all follow the same formula.
They movies are set around the premise of a small group of people who escape impending death, only to then be killed off one by one in bizarre freak accidents.
Final Destination: Bloodlines hits cinemas on May 14 in the UK and May 16 in the US.
