Albany Co. Legislature to donate business clothes to homeless program
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- The Albany County Legislature will be donating business and interview-ready clothing to the Albany County Sheriff's Homeless Improvement Program (S.H.I.P). The donations will be dropped off at 10:30 a.m.
The Albany County Sheriff’s Office started the homeless improvement program in 2020 using part of the County Jail. The program provides shelter and provides men and women help to find permanent housing and jobs.
The donations are part of the Legislature's Women's History Month Drive.
According to the Legislature, the donations will include dozens of shoes, skirts, blouses, scarves, dresses and jackets to be interview ready. Feminine hygiene products will also be donated to provide women with additional resources while using the Sheriff's transitional housing.
