Veteran Patriots Wideout Reacts To New England Landing Stefon Diggs
The Patriots’ wide receiver group improved by a considerable margin Tuesday evening.
Roughly two weeks removed from the NFL’s initial free agency frenzy, New England reportedly agreed to terms with free-agent receiver Stefon Diggs. Diggs, who’s coming off a season-ending torn ACL, will sign a three-year, $69 million deal ($26 million guaranteed) in Foxboro, Mass, according to multiple reports.
Diggs’ reported agreement with the Patriots sparked an avalanche of social media reactions. Included in the spree was a post from fellow veteran pass-catcher Kendrick Bourne, who is eager to play alongside his new teammate.
“Ooooooo yeaaaaaaaa!! Let’s workkkk!!!,” Bourne posted to X.
It remains to be seen how Diggs, who turns 32 years old in late November, will perform in his first season in New England. But from sheer production and household name standpoints, the four-time Pro Bowl selection represents the best wide receiver the Patriots have rostered since Julian Edelman.
Thus, we have to imagine Drake Maye is pretty excited about Diggs’ arrival.
