I shed 5st in 11 months on fat jabs – I’d never been able to shift the weight but now all I do is walk
A WOMAN has left people gobsmacked after sharing her incredible weight loss journey thanks to fat jabs.
Gina Gee, who is from the UK, dubbed going on Mounjaro ”the best decision” she’s ever made – but experts and NHS medics have warned about the dangers of fat jabs and say they shouldn’t be taken without a prescription.
Gina confessed that she’s been using the injections for 11 months – and during this time, she’s gone from weighing 17st 7lbs to just 12st 9lbs.
After dropping over 5 stone, the brunette beauty took to social media to give her followers a before and after look at her weight loss, leaving many totally stunned.
Before embarking on her weight loss journey, Gina had been struggling to shed the weight all her life – and ”hated” to see the reflection in the mirror.
Despite desperately trying to become healthier, Gina said that nothing seemed to be working – and she grew extremely ”unhappy”.
She bravely opened up about her struggles on TikTok, saying: ”I was unhealthy, unhappy, and I hated myself.
”Obesity had stolen so much from me for over 30 years.
”I fought many battles trying to lose weight over the years.
”I had no hope of ever losing the weight. Then, I found Mounjaro.”
Mounjaro, known as the King Kong of jabs, is to be rolled out on the NHS.
Sun GP Dr Zoe Williams says it can save the lives of people with “life-threatening levels of obesity”.
But despite this, the NHS website warns: “Never take an anti-obesity medicine if it has not been prescribed to you. These types of medicines may not be safe for you and can cause serious side effects.”
About half a million Brits use weight loss drugs – and that number is expected to double in the next year.
Mounjaro is said to suppress the appetite, making people feel fuller for longer.
Such injections are licensed for patients with type 2 diabetes and to assist those who are clinically obese – with a Body Mass Index of 30 or over.
One jab is administered each week but the duration is dependent on a person’s weight.
The drugs can be lawfully supplied only when prescribed by a practitioner – like a doctor, nurse or a pharmacist-independent prescriber.
But many are now buying them through online pharmacies with insufficient checks.
Earlier this year, figures from the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency revealed fat jabs had been linked to 82 deaths across the UK.
And the family of a man from Burton upon Trent, Staffs, who died after taking Mounjaro are calling for a probe into the jab’s “potential to kill”.
‘I’ve never felt as happy as I do now’
But despite the dangers, this content creator, who has over 30k followers, eagerly took to social media to show off her Mounjaro weight loss.
In a short clip shared online, Gina shared snaps of herself prior to her weight loss.
The woman was wearing a figure-hugging dress and seemed to feel miserable, with no smile on her face.
But just seconds later, viewers saw Gina pose in new selfies, as she proudly showed off her new frame and noticeably slimmer face.
Alongside the short clip, Gina penned: ”I’ve never felt as healthy and happy as I do now.
”I’ve never felt more alive.”
She went on, sharing inspiration to others struggling with their weight.
”I may have lost the battles – but I have won the war. Don’t ever give up!”
Answering questions left by viewers, Gina explained that she eats in a calorie deficit and ensures her diet is high in protein.
On top of this, the stunner consumes two to three litres of water every day and stays active by getting her steps in.
Social media users react
The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @ginageemounjaro2, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly taken the internet by storm, racking up almost 250k views in just two days.
Hundreds flocked to comments to praise her new slim look, with one fan writing: ”This is why I don’t get the haters, you got your life and joy back in life.”
Another chimed in: ”u look incredible. what a journey. congratulations u done a mint job u look amazing.”
Some even reckoned that Gina had also shaved years off her face, with one writing: ”No exaggeration u look 20yrs younger now!”
”You was beautiful in the 1st place but it is all about how you felt about yourself .. well done girl,” a fourth added.
The dark reality of Mounjaro
Despite Gina’s incredible success, last year it was revealed that Scots nurse Susan McGowan, 58, died after taking low-dose injections of Mounjaro over a fortnight.
A probe also found that nearly 400 people have gone to hospital after taking weight loss drugs.
Whilst Alexandra dealt with hair loss and kidney pain, the common side effects include nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea, which can lead to severe dehydration.
But if that wasn’t bad enough, doctors say they have also seen “life-threatening complications”, including seizures, bowel obstruction and inflammation of the pancreas.
Model Lottie Moss, 27, even said she had a seizure after taking high doses of Ozempic.
The makers of Mounjaro, Lilly UK, said patient safety is its “top priority”.
Lilly UK stressed: “Regulatory agencies conduct extensive independent assessments of the benefits and risks of every new medicine and Lilly is committed to continually monitoring, evaluating, and reporting safety data.
“If anyone is experiencing side effects when taking any Lilly medicine, they should talk to their doctor or other healthcare professional.”
