Morocco registered a convincing 2-0 win over Tanzania in their World Cup qualifier on Tuesday.
Manchester United’s Noussair Mazraoui started at right-back against the East African outfit, and he showed his class with a superb all-round performance.
The 27-year-old had 102 touches with a passing accuracy of 96 percent. He won seven duels alongside 100 percent of his tackles and completed four dribbles.
Mazraoui received an 8/10 rating from Sofascore for his display, and United fans will hope he can replicate the same for the Red Devils during the next couple of months.
The former Bayern Munich man has been a brilliant signing. He started as a right-back for the Red Devils but has been a regular at right wing-back under manager Ruben Amorim.
Mazraoui has operated on the right and left side of the central defence. The £27 million-rated star has also swapped places with Diogo Dalot, starting from left wing-back on multiple occasions.
With Patrick Dorgu available after his three-game league suspension, Amorim will most likely utilise Mazraoui in his three-man backline for the rest of the season.
United are presently 13th in the Premier League with 37 points. The focus should be on finishing as high as possible with the increasing TV revenue with each position.
Amorim is expected to place more focus on the Europa League. Winning the competition secures a Champions League berth, which could be a major factor this summer.
Qualifying for the elite European competition would help United attract more high-profile players. The transfer budget could be higher with the significant increase in revenue.
United take on Nottingham Forest on the road in their next league game on Tuesday evening. The club will aim to avenge the 3-2 defeat at Old Trafford back in December.
