Topeka restaurant hosts watch party to support the Ichabods
TOPEKA (KSNT) - The Washburn University Ichabods are playing in the Elite Eight.
And one local restaurant is hosting a watch party for all the fans who were unable to make it to Evansville, Indiana. Many students, alumni and fans are here cheering on their 'Bods tonight at Ichabods Grille located in central Topeka. The restaurant hosts a lot of watch parties for all major sporting events, especially when Washburn is playing.
KSNT 27 News spoke with one employee about what makes the watch parties at the grille so special.
"I really like hosting these watch parties specifically with Washburn because most of us here are Washburn students," Ichabod Grille employee Isaac Langley. "Like I'm one our students in our music department so it's a lot of fun for me to have all these people come in because sometimes they'll recognize me from like marching band or we'll just get to talk about the University in general."
This is the Ichabods first appearance in the Elite Eight since 2001.
