'Harry Potter' TV Series Casting: Nick Frost Nears Deal to Play Hagrid

Nick Frost has been eyed for the role of Hagrid in HBO’s new adaptation of the popular book series by JK Rowling, according to Deadline.
This new comes after a different actor was reportedly in early talks.

Online chatter started circulating over the past week about Nick‘s potential casting after he shared a new Instagram post, writing, “What a bloody lovely day! It’s happening, it’s actually happening. Stay cool.”
Hagrid was famously portrayed by the late Robbie Coltrane through all eight of the Harry Potter films.
The character is the first person from the Wizarding World that Harry meets on his 11th birthday in the first book.
