Former Hamburg town official arraigned on burglary, grand larceny charges
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- A Lake View man was arraigned Tuesday on burglary and grand larceny charges after he unlawfully entered a building and stole tools from town of Hamburg departments, the Erie County District Attorney's Office announced.
According to a Hamburg Town Board meeting document, 35-year-old Nathaniel Rivera was formerly the town's director of buildings and grounds.
Around 9 p.m. on March 7, 2025, Rivera allegedly unlawfully entered a building on the 2700 block of Lakeview Road. He is accused of stealing various tools valued at $1,034.52, that belonged to the Town of Hamburg Highway Department and Buildings and Grounds Department.
Rivera was arraigned on one count of third-degree burglary and one count of fourth-degree grand larceny.
Rivera faces a maximum sentence of seven years in prison, if convicted of the highest charge. He is scheduled to return for a felony hearing on April 22 and was released on his own recognizance.
