David rose to fame in 2008 at the age of 16, when he came in second place on Season 7 of American Idol. Now, he wants to show people how far he’s come.
“I wanted it to show, ‘Hey, I’m not the same sweet little teenage boy that you always saw me as. Sometimes I think people forget that I’m in my 30s. I’m older now. I’m more mature,” he said.
David also gave hints as to what to expect for his upcoming songs.
“I feel like there are a little more innuendos in the songs I’m writing. I don’t feel like it’s all-over raunchy necessarily, but I feel like it’s a little naughty. Naughty but nice. Sweet, but savory,” he added.
Last year, David gave some NSFW details about his bedroom life.
