'No scalps': Bannon urges Trump to 'hunker down' as 'fang-baring' Dems go on the offensive
MAGA influencer Steve Bannon made clear what path he thinks Trump administration officials caught up in the Signal group chat controversy should take as he vilified Democratic lawmakers for trying to get to the bottom of the colossal national security error.
“They want a scalp,” Bannon proclaimed of Democrats. “This is the deep state rising up and coming after President Trump publicly, with the fangs bared.”
Bannon delivered the seething remarks on Tuesday on his “War Room” podcast, where he questioned the timing of the explosive report from The Atlantic’s Jeffrey Goldberg. The former Trump adviser also insisted that a Senate Intelligence Committee hearing earlier in the day was nothing more than an “ambush.”
“They're looking for a scalp and we're now hunkered down in the no scalp business,” he said. “Need to tighten it up and hunker down right now.”

Bannon went on to ask listeners, “Do you think that it was just random that this hearing was held today?”
“No, they knew they had a previously scheduled intelligence briefing today and this is where they were going to ambush, and that's what this was, ambush, the senior intelligence officials of the President Trump administration,” he said.
The MAGA firebrand added that Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard “was absolutely accurate” during her testimony.
“Don't engage them. You don't need to talk about anything. It's under review,” he insisted.
“This is the deep state, this is a pincer move... between the radical judiciary, the deep state, and I'm gonna throw one a little of the resistance moving on top of it, the color revolution.”
