Twisted tricks woman used to fake pregnancies revealed – including ‘Daddy Dream Team’ gift with imaginary kids’ names

A WOMAN used twisted tricks to fake pregnancies to her partner and convince them her made-up child had died.

Libby Vernon, 23, deceived her partner using a number of sick strategies including wearing a silicone pregnancy bump and telling them she was pregnant with their twins.

She even sent a false death certificate to her partner in an attempt to convince him her fake child had died.

Cumbria Police today shared some of the sickening images Vernon had used to convince her unsuspecting partner.

This included a chilling plaque gift which contained all the names of the fake babies Vernon had invented in order to lie to her partner.

Pictures also revealed the fake death certificate Vernon sent in late 2023.

It claimed her phoney baby Athena had died of “sudden infant death syndrome“, or SIDS.

Following this, Vernon told her partner she was pregnant again with his child, but this time it was twins that she invented.

The serial liar created a plaque showing the names “mummy” and “daddy” on football shirts in a sickening “Daddy’s Team Team” design.

Their names were accompanied by her three fake babies, Tommy, Ollie, and Athena.

At the bottom of the plaque, the words “love from your number one fans” were written.

Vernon had claimed to her partner she had become pregnant by an “abusive ex-partner” when she began a long distance relationship with the man.

She even sent a sickening “picture” of a newborn with the caption: “Someone wants to meet you”.

But just days after “giving birth”, she told him the child had died from SIDS.

She backed up this fraudulent claim with her sickening false death certificate.

The pair became intimate after grieving the loss, with Vernon then telling her unsuspecting victim she was pregnant again and expecting his twins.

To sell her sickening lie, she even bought a fake pregnancy bump from eBay, which we padded out as her “pregnancy” progressed.

The couple celebrated with family at a gender reveal party, purchasing a twin pram and other baby items.

SICKENING LIES BEGIN TO BECOME EXPOSED

However, the lies eventually caught up to the Vernon as her partner began to figure out something wasn’t right.

He revealed he had never seen her undressed as she had told him she was “self-conscious” about her looks.

Then, in January last year, she said she was in pain and sent her partner a picture of a blood clot.

Vernon told him she believed she was losing the pregnancy, but just five months later she agreed to go to the hospital after family members said her baby bump “didn’t look right”.

Once in hospital, the shocking truth was revealed that Vernon had not been on the maternity ward at all and she had been wearing a fake baby bump.

It was here that her partner also discovered that the original pregnancy and baby had never existed.

A statement read to Workington Magistrates’ Court from the victim said he had been “really struggling emotionally” when thinking that the twins should have been born by now.

Vernon was jailed for six months and given a two-year restraining order after pleading guilty to four charges of sending communication conveying false information and five charges of sending false communication with intent to cause harm.

She also admitted one charge of sending a false certificate regarding registration of a birth or death.
