Bronny James scores career-high 39 points in G League game
With the South Bay Lakers, Bronny James continues to improve his game and has set a new high in points in their most recent win.
While Bronny James recently had one of his best performances in the NBA, he’s still playing plenty of games in the G League with the South Bay Lakers.
On Monday night, he had his best game of his young career in the G League, scoring 39 points in the team’s 122-118 win over the Santa Cruz Warriors.

Bronny started the scoring immediately for South Bay on Monday night and piled on from there. He went 14-21 from the field and converted on 50% of his 3-point attempts. Bronny also had seven rebounds and four assists in the win.
This wasn’t a stat-padding situation with Bronny amassing points near the end of an already decided result. South Bay narrowly walked away with the win, and they needed Bronny to help lead them to the victory.
While this was his best scoring night so far, good Bronny games are becoming a common occurrence.
Earlier this season, he scored 30 points on the road for South Bay, and his recent play with the main team has certainly shown signs of the player he can become.
With the Lakers now having everyone minus Maxi Kleber available and in the middle of a battle for playoff positioning, Bronny will likely continue to split his time between the G League and the NBA.
Given that minutes will be less available with the Lakers, it’s good that not only is Bronny getting reps in the G League, but he’s excelling during his play there.
He is now deep into his rookie campaign and he’s going through the standard progression of improving over time as he continues as a professional basketball player.
With only a handful of games left on the G League schedule, Bronny will have a few more opportunities to play with South Bay this year before the season ends.
Hopefully, he will continue to shine in the G League and take advantage of whatever games he plays with the Lakers this year.
