ESPN Shares Very Bold Prediction For Red Sox’s 2025 Season
The Red Sox could be bound for significant hardware in 2025.
Boston has more than enough talent across the board to compete for baseball’s ultimate prize this season. But in addition to a potential World Series title, several Red Sox players could be in contention for major individual honors this year.
One marquee award was the focus of ESPN’s bold prediction for the recharged Red Sox.
“No team has ever won all three outfield Gold Gloves, but the trio of Jarren Duran, Ceddanne Rafaela and Wilyer Abreu can do just that,” David Schoenfeld wrote. “Abreu won in right field as a rookie. Duran was second among all outfielders in defensive runs saved in 2024 although would have to beat out three-time winner Steven Kwan in left. And Rafaela has Gold Glove range in center if he hits enough to hold off (Roman) Anthony (or isn’t needed again at shortstop).”
Of course, Gold Gloves might not be the only awards bound for Jersey Street this season. Garrett Crochet, Kristian Campbell and Alex Cora have the second-shortest odds at FanDuel Sportsbook for Cy Young, Rookie of the Year and Manager of the Year in the American League, respectively. Rafael Devers, meanwhile, is among the 10 superstars with the shortest odds to win AL MVP.
Cora and his players will start building cases for high-level recognition Thursday when Boston kicks off its regular season in Texas.
