US airstrike in Yemen kills one, injures 13 amid Houthi tensions
An airstrike by U.S. forces on a building in the “Asr” neighborhood of Sanaa resulted in one death and 13 injuries.
According to health officials under Houthi control, all the victims of this attack were civilians.
Local sources have confirmed that the airstrike targeted a residential area, causing damage to nearby homes as well.
The Houthi-controlled Ministry of Health condemned the attack and stated that the injured have been transferred to a hospital, with some in critical condition.
This airstrike comes amid increasing tensions in the region, as the Houthi group recently threatened to resume attacks on ships passing through the Red Sea.
The ongoing escalation of tensions in Yemen continues to strain relations in the Middle East. The Houthis’ recent threats to resume attacks on ships have drawn increased attention from international actors, especially the U.S., who have expressed concerns over the security of maritime trade routes in the region.
Experts from the Middle East Institute have warned that the continuation of such military engagements could destabilize the region further, with the potential for broader conflicts between the Houthis and foreign powers.
The situation remains tense, and while many governments call for de-escalation, the prospects for peace appear increasingly uncertain.
