1 arrested after fatal overnight stabbing in Niagara Falls
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- One person was arrested and charged after a woman was fatally stabbed overnight Sunday in Niagara Falls, police announced.
At 3:30 a.m., police responded to an apartment located at 1807 Main St. for a report of an assault with a weapon. Upon arrival, police found an unresponsive female lying on the floor and a possible suspect that was detained, officials said.
According to police, an altercation between family members occurred and escalated into the victim being stabbed.
Officers who responded to the scene attempted life-saving measures before medical personnel arrived. The victim, whose name was not released by police, was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Seleste Bomberry, 29 and of Niagara Falls, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder. Bomberry is scheduled to be arraigned in court on March 24.
