I transformed my plain kitchen using cheap buys from B&Q and Amazon – people can’t believe the difference
A SAVVY woman has revealed how she transformed her plain white and brown kitchen on a budget.
Anne Penfold took to social media to show off the transformation of her kitchen and it’s left everyone impressed.
Rather than forking out thousands of pounds for a new kitchen, she decided to do it all by herself with some budget-friendly buys.
Taking to Facebook, she said: “So this is my kitchen makeover on a tiny budget.
“It was a long weekend of hard work but wow what a change!
“All done for £120.”
She showed pictures of the kitchen before the makeover, and while there was nothing wrong with it, it lacked any personality.
The cupboards were a typical wood stain, her backsplash tiles were white, and her countertops were grey.
But she was able to totally transform it with a few bargain buys.
She first started by giving the cupboards a lick of paint in a deep green colour using Cupboard & Cabinet Paint from B&Q.
The paint costs just £22 for a 750ml can and added the right amount of colour to her kitchen.
She then updated the countertops with marble vinyl from Amazon to give it a modern touch.
Anne also nabbed patterned black and white tiles to cover her plain backsplash from Amazon as well.
She also swapped out the handles of the cupboards to sleek black ones.
“Paint B&Q, wrap and adhesive tiles Amazon, handles B&Q,” she added.
The post was shared on the Facebook group, DIY On A Budget Official, which boasts over 2 million followers.
People were quick to congratulate her on the DIY transformation and could not believe the end results.
One person wrote: “You’ve done a great job, it looks fab!!”
Another commented: “Very nice, so much warmer.”
“Well done! It looks fantastic,” penned a third.
