Why Tottenham should be worried about Wilson Odobert’s France assists
Wilson Odobert delivered two amazing assists for France’s Under-21 side in their win over England on Saturday, but Spurs fans should be a little worried as the player he assisted for both goals will soon come up against their side.
Wilson Odobert has been in superb form for Tottenham Hotspur since returning from his injury lay-off, arguably being the Lilywhites’ most penetrative forward over the last month.
Odobert took that form into Saturday’s fixture and created two goals for his side as the French youngsters thumped their English counterparts 5-3 in Lorient.
For both goals, Odobert showed his pace and his balance, turning Man City defender Rico Lewis inside out for the first, and on both occasions, he delivered pin-point crosses into the box.
Will Wilson Odobert’s assists come back to haunt Tottenham?
It was Hugo Ekitike who was on hand inside the box to tap home both of Odobert’s crosses, with the striker netting a hattrick in the process.
The forward did not have much to do on both occasions, tapping a ball into the empty net after being picked out by Odobert, but like any good goalscorer, the 22-year-old will not care how they come.
The hattrick might not be good news for Spurs as Ekitike plays for Eintracht Frankfurt, which means he will come up against the Lilywhites twice over the next few weeks as the two clubs lock horns in the quarterfinal stage of the Europa League.
The Frankfurt forward has found the back of the net 19 times for his club so far this season, and Odobert might have just inadvertently boosted his confidence ahead of the crunch Europa League tie.

Why Ange Postecoglou will be quietly confident going into the Frankfurt tie
As long as Cristian Romero comes through the international break unscathed, one would expect him to start alongside Micky van de Ven at the back against Frankfurt.
Tottenham are a completely different beast when the Argentine and Dutchman start together, and Ekitike might struggle to get any sort of joy against those two.
