Man killed in south Austin fatal crash Thursday
AUSTIN (KXAN) — A man was killed in a fatal crash in south Austin Thursday evening, Austin police said.
The crash happened just after 7 p.m. at the intersection of S. Lamar Boulevard and Gibson Street. Police said two vehicles collided before one crashed into a cement retaining wall.
The driver of that vehicle, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver and passenger of the second vehicle were not injured, police said.
The fatal crash is the 19th in Austin so far this year, resulting in 23 deaths.
