Father charged in connection with baby found dead in vehicle in New Jersey
LAKEWOOD TOWNSHIP, New Jersey (PIX11) – A father is facing charges after his infant son was found dead in a vehicle in Lakewood Township on Tuesday, prosecutors say.
Moshe Ehrlich, 35, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child on Thursday after police found his 4-month-old son in a car on Fifth Avenue, according to the Ocean County Prosecutor.
Ehrlich’s son appeared to be left alone in his father’s vehicle for an extended period of time on Tuesday, authorities say. Emergency teams from Hatzolah Medical Services tried to give lifesaving aid to the child, but he was later pronounced dead at the hospital, according to police.
Ehrlich surrendered himself to Lakewood Township police on Thursday.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident and say there may be additional charges filed.
