Trump's latest Elon Musk move shows 'just how weak' the President is: Dem lawmaker
Rep. Steve Horsford (D-NV) on Friday heaped scorn on President Donald Trump for reportedly allowing Elon Musk to receive a briefing on top-secret war plans.
Appearing on CNN, Horsford addressed the rage being expressed by Democratic voters at town hall meetings across the United States, and he pointed out that there was particular anger directed toward Musk and his efforts to take a hatchet to the federal workforce.
"What they're frustrated with is Elon Musk wasn't elected to anything," he said. "He is an unelected billionaire, the richest person in the world who has no accountability."

Horsford then singled out reports that Musk is set to get a briefing at the Pentagon about America's plans for war with China, which presents a major conflict of interest given Musk's extensive overseas dealings with the Chinese Communist Party.
"The idea that he would have access to our national security interest at a time when there are so many concerns all around the world, is outrageous," he said. "This is why Democrats have been calling on House Republicans to bring Elon Musk before Congress. If he is such a genius, if everything that he's doing is so great, then bring him before Congress and let him testify. Let there be accountability to the people who are actually elected to ask those questions and to make sure our interests are protected. I think president trump is showing just how weak he is when it comes to China by allowing this type of access from an unelected billionaire like Elon Musk."
