LIAM Payne’s girlfriend Kate Cassidy was seen breaking down in tears after she was overwhelmed by memories as she unpacked boxes.
The One Direction star died in October last year at the age of 31 after falling from a hotel balcony in Argentina.
Influencer Kate, 25, had been dating Liam for two years when he died.
She had been with him in Argentina until two days before his death.
Last night Kate shared an emotional video on TikTok where she revealed she had finally opened up some boxes which had memories connected to her late boyfriend.
She had been putting it off, due to the pain she has been feeling following his tragic death just over four months ago.
Whilst unpacking the boxes, Kate revealed she had discovered a yellow gown and white stilettos which she had worn to a wedding with Liam last August.
The discovery made the singer’s grieving girlfriend become emotional as she recalled the special day, and remembered how she had “danced the night away” with Liam.
Choking back the tears, Kate said: “I have just been absolutely dreading opening up these boxes and going through these things because they’re just like the things I had in the last couple of months and weeks with Liam.
“So I’ve really been procrastinating opening these boxes and sorting through these boxes and that’s what I’ve been doing for the past hour, just organising and getting my things together and packing up my stuff.
“And um… [chokes up] I open this box – I’m really trying to pull it together right now – and I found this dress.”
Kate continued: “This dress actually brings me so much peace and comfort because the memory that me and Liam had in this dress was a memory I will never forget.
“We went to this beautiful wedding and it was my very first wedding I’ve ever attended.
“Oh my god we just had the best time… and the best part about this is in another box, these shoes, and I remember the next morning and I said to Liam ‘Oh my god look at my shoes they’re so ruined, I don’t know what to do with them’ – and when I tell you these shoes were practically almost new before I wore them this night, we just literally danced the night away.”
She added: “We were just dancing all night, walking around this venue, exploring, and I just can’t even believe I didn’t throw these out.
“And I’m so glad I didn’t.”
‘HARD TO GET OUT OF BED’
Earlier this month, Kate discussed how she was finding life and dealing with the pain of such an enormous loss.
Speaking to ITV‘s Lorraine, she said: “I’m going through this healing journey, sometimes it’s hard for me to get out of bed in the morning and something I don’t want to do.
“But I have this responsibility and this obligation that I am almost in a way… I have no choice.
“I have to get out of bed (for my dog) Nala and whether it’s a five-minute walk or 20-minute walk first thing in the morning.
“Either way, it just wakes me up and refreshes my mind instead of laying in bed all day just scrolling through social media or old photos, it gets me out of bed and really, really helps my mindset and my mental health.”
LIAM’S DEATH ‘DOESN’T SEEM REAL’
Kate had been staying with Liam in Argentina but flew back to America before his fatal accident.
In an interview with The Sun last month she revealed his death “still doesn’t feel fully real”.
She added: “Love is so optimistic, and you just hope that everything will work out at the end.
“Obviously if I knew, if I could see into the future, I would never have left Argentina.”
