Wabaunsee County Sheriff offer reward after horse found shot, killed
TOPEKA (KSNT) - Local law enforcement is on the lookout for the person who shot and killed a horse in Wabaunsee County.
The Wabaunsee County Sheriff's Office posted on social media that a horse was found shot and killed near I-70 and Carlson Road on Thursday, March 20.
The sheriff's office announced that while searching for the "unknown assailant", it's putting $500 on top of the owner's pledge of $2,000 towards any information leading to a lawful arrest and conviction of any perpetrators.
"We are devoting the full might of our investigative resources towards the relentless pursuit & capture of the perpetrator or perpetrators responsible for this reprehensible atrocity against a beautiful, innocent & defenseless animal. An attack on one is an attack on all and we stand resolved as a United County for all ever in need of a valiant defense be you Cattle, Homestead, Horse or Man."
