Kat Graham Reimagines Power Suiting in Versace Pointed-Toe Platform Boots at “Duplicity” Atlanta Screening
Kat Graham turned heads — and her suit jacket around — in shiny pointed-toe Versace platform ankle boots at the Atlanta screening of the new Tyler Perry film she stars in, “Duplicity” on Wednesday.
The “Vampire Diaries” star wore a tailored grey tweed suit, opting to wear the jacket backwards for a unique styling choice. Her Versace shoes featured a sharp pointed toe, a 2.5-inch treaded rubber platform and a tapered square 6.5-inch heel.
The silhouette, from the Italian designer’s Aevitas line of towering, trendy platforms, takes the Chelsea ankle boot to new heights and is made of smooth patent leather.
Pointed-toe shoes have returned to fashion in recent years after their heyday in the ’80s and ’90s. Today, pointed-toes can be found on many shoe silhouettes, from boots of all heights, to sling-backs, pumps, even open-toed stiletto sandals. The most-classic, rather-timeless style is a pointed-toe stiletto pump, with Christian Louboutin’s So Kate pumps a bona-fide red carpet staple.
Pointed-toe boots, ranging from ankle boots to thigh-highs, are often paired with a stiletto heel of varying height, although they can also be found atop trendy block heels. Prada, Larroudé, Versace, Christian Louboutin, Paris Texas, Saint Laurent, Jimmy Choo and Balenciaga all make a variety of pointed-toe boots and shoes.
Graham’s Atlanta screening red carpet look is a complete 180 from the glamourous all-black look she wore to the “Duplicity” New York premiere. At the Tuesday event, she stepped out in La Silla t-strap stiletto sandals and a one-shoulder Saint Laurent gown.
The Atlanta screening took place at the Regal Atlantic Station movie theater and saw Graham pose on the red carpet with her husband Bryant Wood and co-stars Meagan Tandy, Tyler Lepley, RonReaco Lee and others.
“Duplicity” is the latest drama written and directed by Tyler Perry, starring Graham as a high-powered lawyer solving the murder of her best friend’s (played by Tandy) husband. The movie debuts on Amazon Prime Video on today.
