NYC affordable housing building offers apartments under $500
BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) – A new affordable housing lottery in New York City is offering apartments for as low as $454 a month.
The affordable housing lottery is for the second phase of Atlantic Chestnut, a multi-building development located at 254 Euclid Ave. in Cypress Hills, Brooklyn.
“The second phase includes 369 lottery units, all with brand new appliances including dishwashers, built in microwaves and air conditioning in the units. The building features a landscaped courtyard and a beautiful roof deck above the eighth floor, which will feature gardening beds, natural habitats and sweeping views of the surrounding area,” the building’s listing states.
Some of the building’s other amenities include a 24/7 staffed lobby, a package room, a laundry room, and an exercise room.
The building has six studio apartments available for $454 a month. A single person making between $19,372 and $32,610 would qualify. A couple making between $19,372 and $37,290 would qualify.
The building has 15 one-bedroom apartments available for $577 a month. A single person making between $24,138 and $32,610 would qualify. A couple making between $24,138 and $37,290 would qualify.
The building has 15 two-bedroom apartments available for $680 a month. A couple making between $29,143 and $37,290 would qualify. A household of three people making between $29,143 and $41,940 would qualify.
The building also has seven three-bedroom apartments available for $774. A household of three people making between $33,806 and $41,940 would qualify. A household of four people making between $33,806 and $46,590 would qualify. A household of five people making between $33,806 and $50,310 would qualify.
There are also more than 320 additional units available, including studios, one-bedroom apartments, two-bedroom apartments, and three-bedroom apartments.
The rent prices of the other apartments vary. People with higher incomes would qualify for apartments with higher rent.
The eligible income range to apply to the lottery is $19,372 to $173,340. Applications for Atlantic Chestnut will remain open until May 19.
The property is listed on the NYC Housing Connect website, an online portal where people can find and apply for affordable housing opportunities in New York City.
